Vancouver - Harbour Cruise and Chinese Gardens

Monday, June 1

Lou and I get together today for a little harbour cruise to start with. Our effort to get there by bus is thwarted when two buses leave us stranded. We have to resort to a taxi in the end so as not to miss the boat.

The weather starts out fairly sunny, but there is a cool breeze and the sky becomes a bit overcast. Nevertheless, the one hour cruise around the harbour is very enjoyable.

Should I ever have a little old boat kicking around, I'll know just what to do with it.

After this lovely treat, we take the bus to China Town where we find a restaurant where the locals eat and have lunch before going to visit the Dr Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden.

The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is the first Chinese or "scholars" garden built outside of China, and is located in Chinatown in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The garden is very serene and beautiful. It is so diverse that you don't notice how small it really is.

Pity about the weather turning cold and wet. We could easily have stayed a bit longer.
Lou comes across to North Vancouver with me to explore the markets and have dinner.
