Today, we're driving across the border into the state of Washington USA. Fort Langley is very close to the US border. We are heading to Whidbey Island.
The snow covered, dormant volcano Mt Baker can be seen from Fort Langley. Today, this mountain seems to follow us around.

A very beautiful spot we pass on the way is Deception Pass
Deception Pass is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island, in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Washington. It connects Skagit Bay, part of Puget Sound, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Wikipedia
The water current was originally thought to be a river - this proved to be deceptive

We drive as far as Coupeville, a charming seaside town and stop for a fish and chips lunch at Toby's Tavern
Some years ago, I created a calendar with drawings of old buildings and things and called it 'The tooth of time'
I reckon I'm seeing plenty of old barns today to half fill another such calendar.
