Arriving in Ketchican in the middle of the day. Looking at the town from the top deck. The Volendam is a pretty big ship.
Ketchikan is a city in Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Alaska, United States, the southeasternmost city in Alaska. Wikipedia
The excursion I chose for today is the Misty Fjords seaplane tour.
I can't really describe this excursion in words. The photos will have to speak for themselves.
No doubt the fjords are at times very misty, they are very clear in today's beautiful weather.
I have the misfortune of being seated by the door and find myself a tad worried about how secure the door is. But I'm here to tell the tale.
We land on the water for a little while here. The next two pictures are the only ones that were not taken through the glass window.
Incredibly beautiful, isn't it?
I could just keep going.
But a scant two hours later we're coming in to land on the harbour. And there is the mighty Volendam waiting for us.
When I come back to my cabin quite late in the evening, I peep inside to see what interesting towel animal awaits me on the bed but can't see anything. A little disappointed I fully open the door and enter...................and then I roar with laughter before I even close the door behind me, for here it is, hanging from the ceiling
What a happy ending to another wonderful day.
